ANSI B16.5 Class 2500 Flanges | Lap Joint

ANSI B16.5 Class 2500 Lap Joint Flanges conform to the pressure class of 2500 pounds-force per square inch (PSIG) as specified by the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards. These flanges consist of two stub ends and backing flange, typically used to connect different sections of pipe. Lap joint flanges possess excellent resistance to heat and corrosion. Compared to other types of flanges, they have a lower pressure rating and are therefore not suitable for high-pressure applications that require a tight seal.

YANHAO ANSI B16.5 lap joint flanges are made of stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel. We also provide additional components such as gasket flanges, bolts, nuts, flange covers, or flange cover gaskets. We usually offer standard flanges; if you need to order special types of flanges, please get in touch with our experts.

Lap Joint

Lap Joint Flanges are specially designed pipe connection components, consisting of two main parts: the stub end and the backing flange. One end of the stub end is welded to the pipeline, while the backing flange is bolted to the other end, and the two work together to achieve rapid connection and sealing of the pipeline.

Lap Joint Flanges are easy to install and remove, structural design can reduce the impact of thermal expansion and contraction on the pipeline. In addition, due to the separate design of the stub end and the backing flange, different materials can be selected according to different working conditions to adapt to various corrosive environments. They are commonly used in oil and gas transportation pipelines, as well as in the chemical industry pipeline systems for handling high-temperature and corrosive media.

FAQ

Any butt-weld fitting or weld-neck flange can be directly welded to any other butt-weld fitting or weld-neck flange without the need for any extra piece of pipe (Pup piece) between them.

The Weld Neck Flange offers increased strength under higher pressures, subzero or elevated temperatures that cause line expansion or retraction, or other variable forces. The Slip On Flange is connected to the pipe by two welds, one on the back side of the Flange and one on the inside of the Flange.

Weld Neck Flanges, It gives the highest level of joint integrity as it is butt-welded with a pipe. These types of flanges are used in high-pressure and temperature application.
