Common flange materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc.
Carbon steel flanges are low in cost and high in strength, suitable for general working conditions; stainless steel flanges have good corrosion resistance and are often used in places where the medium is corrosive to a certain extent; alloy steel flanges can provide better performance under harsh conditions such as high temperature and high pressure.
Carbon steel flanges have high strength but relatively weak corrosion resistance; stainless steel flanges have strong corrosion resistance and beautiful appearance, but the price is relatively high, and different types of stainless steel also have different corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. For example, 304 stainless steel flanges are suitable for general corrosive environments, while 316 stainless steel flanges are more resistant to highly corrosive media such as seawater; alloy steel flanges have good high temperature strength and fatigue resistance, and can withstand higher pressures and temperatures, but they are more difficult to process and more expensive.

We ensure the quality of flanges from many aspects. First of all, when purchasing raw materials, we only use steel from high-quality steel mills with quality certificates.
Secondly, during the production process, we strictly follow the standard process to perform hot forging, heat treatment and other processes, such as hot forging according to NB/T47008-2010 and other standards according to different materials.
Furthermore, we are equipped with advanced testing equipment to conduct geometric dimension inspection, appearance inspection, hardness inspection, mechanical inspection, spectral analysis, non-destructive testing and other physical and chemical inspections on the finished flanges to prevent the outflow of unqualified products.
Flanges come in a variety of sizes, with common nominal diameters ranging from DN10 to DN5000. Different nominal diameters correspond to different outer diameters, bolt hole spacing, bolt diameter, number of bolt holes, flange thickness and other specific dimensions.
For example, in the national standard flange, the outer diameter of a DN15 flange is 95mm, the bolt hole spacing is 65mm, the bolt diameter is 14mm, the number of bolt holes is 4, and the flange thickness is 14mm.

Flanges of different standards differ in size, pressure rating, and sealing surface form. For example, under the pressure of 150LB, the ANSI flange has a size division of 1/2 inch to 24 inches, while under the pressure of 300LB, the ANSI flange also has a size division of 1/2 inch to 24 inches, but the data of each part is different under the same size and different pressures.
National standard flanges are formulated according to relevant standards of my country and are widely used in domestic projects. Japanese standard flanges also have their own characteristics in size and some details, and are used in Japan and some projects using Japanese technology.
When choosing, it is necessary to determine which standard flange to use based on the specific use environment and supporting requirements.
Common flange sealing surface forms include flat sealing surface, concave-convex sealing surface, tongue-and-groove sealing surface, etc.
Flat sealing surface has a simple structure and is easy to process, and is suitable for occasions with low pressure and non-toxic media; concave-convex sealing surface has better sealing performance and can withstand higher pressure, but requires higher processing accuracy; tongue-and-groove sealing surface has the best sealing performance and is often used in occasions with strict sealing requirements, such as pipeline connections for flammable, explosive, and toxic media.
Price and cost
The price of flanges is usually determined by many factors, including material, specification size, pressure level, standard, surface treatment method, and market supply and demand.
Generally speaking, the price of stainless steel flanges is relatively high, while the price of carbon steel flanges is relatively low; the price of large-diameter, high-pressure-level flanges will be more expensive than small-diameter, low-pressure-level flanges; the price of special standard or customized flanges will also be higher than that of ordinary standard flanges.

Production process and quality control

We have established a strict quality control system from raw material procurement, production and processing to finished product inspection. The main installation methods of flanges include welding and bolting. When selecting flange gaskets, factors such as the nature, pressure, and temperature of the medium need to be considered. For general media such as water and steam, rubber gaskets or asbestos rubber gaskets can be selected; for corrosive media, corrosion-resistant materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene gaskets should be selected; for high temperature and high pressure occasions, metal gaskets or metal spiral wound gaskets with good sealing performance and high temperature resistance are required.
During use, it is necessary to regularly check whether there are leakages, looseness, etc. at the connection parts of the flange. If there are any problems, they should be dealt with in time. At the same time, attention should be paid to the temperature and pressure changes of the medium to avoid exceeding the rated use range of the flange. For flanges that are used for a long time, regular maintenance and care are also required, such as cleaning, lubrication, anti-corrosion, etc., to extend their service life.
